All is not well with the tomatoes in the polytunnel.
What ails them?
I moved the tomato plants from home to the allotment and planted them out, in a fit of panic planting, thinking (but not thinking through) that they would be better off out of the pots (and in the ground) if I were not able to visit the allotment/polytunnel daily. That was the 22nd of March. Two weeks later and they are not looking well.
Could it be the extreme swings of temperature - e.g. from 30 degrees to -0.9 degrees in the course of 24 hours? That wouldn't do them much good.
Have I over-watered them? Could it be root scorch - if the manure added earlier in the year hasn't integrated well enough? Bacterial canker? Nutrient deficiency e.g. potassium?
