A honeybee with sacs of rosemary pollen?

One of the first tasks of the day was to visit the apiary to check on the supplementary feeds given to the honeybees on Sunday 23rd February.
The colony in Hive 2 (see below) had used up all the feed however the colony in Hive 3 (a larger colony) had not. The replacement feed is 'Neopoll'. Early spring blossom is out - almond, wild plum, blackthorn, rosemary, and various other plants. Hopefully, we will not experience winter weather in mid-spring or later - as has happened in recent years.

Elsewhere - other signs of spring include frogs spawning in the ponds.

Main Pond.

Much of the rest of the gardening day was spent in the polytunnel, repairing and preparing the raised beds - all in the hope that the old cover will last until the weather is warm and calm enough to enable the re-covering of the tunnel.
