Sunday 16th February, 2020.

The allotment garden of Nowhere in particular, was inundated by the deluge of Dennis today.

Above is a video record of the sort of flow of water a day of heavy rain can bring to the allotment site. The video was filmed at the small pond to the left/south of B5b. Below, the allotment map with the watercourse traced upon it.

Watercourse (pipe/bricks/boards) - B top

The main pond - swollen and murky.

The lower orchard - flooded.

The first frogspawn of the year found in the small pond.

Today was the day to get on with erecting the new screens for the apiary enclosure.

The apiary is not on the allotment map - as it is situated close to the centre of the allotment site as a whole; it's about 20 metres to the left/south of Plot B top.

I hope there will be calm, dry weather next weekend as I really want to open up the hives - check on the colony clusters - and give them supplementary feeds of fondant as I'm sure this mild winter weather has accelerated the depletion of their stores.
