Tuesday 27th February 2018....

Map in progress - to 27th February 2018.

On, but never on top of, the garden -
before 'the dusk demesnes of night'.

A chilling blast from Siberia may well have disturbed, if not put a halt to, my dreams of summer, and quite rightly for should my dreams of a summer garden precede the joyful dreams of a spring garden? In winter, make ready for spring. In 'the allotment garden of Nowhere in particular', dreaming is all about preparation and vice versa. For every act of doing there is a moment of being to be enjoyed if connections can be made between the many dimensions of the garden, including the garden in the present, winter, and the garden in the future, spring, summer and so on. The garden is a temporal landscape, always in transition, always 'happening', and it defies any sense of consolidation amidst a plethora of signs of change. The signs, the changes, they absorb me and my energy fully, yet I cannot absorb them fully - the garden is always ahead of me, inviting and challenging me to be on it though never really on top of it.
